On September 8th, 1942, the commander of the 563rd Independent Tank Battalion performed experimental trials of 50 mm domestic mortar shells fired from the 50 mm mortar installed on British MK-3 tanks.
Result: the shell is fired at a range of 300-500 meters.
I ask you to provide tank battalions with MK-3 tanks on demand with the necessary amount of 50 mm mortar shells, on the basis of 60 shells per ammunition load:
- 258th Independent Tank Battalion: 9 * 120 = 1080 shells
- 249th Independent Tank Battalion: 9 * 120 = 1080 shells
- 563rd Independent Tank Battalion: 16 * 120 = 1920 shells
